Research shows that EU rules around work and residence permits (single permits) for non-EU workers obstruct their protection and their long-term prospects because of lengthy procedures, dependency on employers, and lack of complaint mechanisms.
The revision of such rules (Single Permit Directive) could mean a move forward improving migrant workers’ rights.
In this webinar, we discuss this Directive and its opportunities and pitfalls in the protection of migrant worker rights, and how we can prevent non-EU workers from falling into irregularity.
This webinar is organised as part of a new webinar series jointly organised by a group of Horizon Europe projects focusing on irregular migration in Europe.
